1. How do I reheat soft meal products?
Soft meal Bento reheating instructions:
Method 1: Reheat through Microwave
STEP 1 Place Bento in room temperature to defrost
STEP 2 Remove paper sleeve before reheating, no need to remove plastic wrap
STEP 3 Microwave Bento at 500W for 2 minutes
Method 2: Reheat through steaming
STEP 1 Place Bento in room temperature to defrost
STEP 2 Remove paper sleeve before reheating, no need to remove plastic wrap
STEP 3 Steam Bento at 80°C for 20 minutes
EverSmile Mousse Products Reheating Instructions:
Eversmile products can be consumed directly from without reheating. To enjoy heated Eversmile product; customers may microwave it for 20 seconds, or reheat for 4-5 minutes. Please be aware not to overheat the products as it may change the shape and consistency of products.
2. How should I know if an elderly can consume soft meal products?
Should you notice symptoms of dysphagia (i.e. swallowing difficulties) in an elderly, we recommend seeking professional advice from speech therapists, to understand the category of food that the elderly can enjoy under International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI). The IDDSI level of all soft meal products have been evaluated and clearly listed in product descriptions on our website. 3. If an elderly does not have teeth, or has deteriorated teeth, is he able to consume soft meal?
If the elderly does not face significant obstacles in swallowing, other than difficulties in chewing due to teeth problems, he may consume soft meal as it requires minimal chewing. Should you notice symptoms of dysphagia (i.e. swallowing difficulties) in an elderly, we recommend seeking professional advice from speech therapists before purchasing.
4. Can soft meal products fulfil dietary requirements of a normal meal?
Each set of soft meal has a balanced combination of protein and vegetables. Ingredients and nutritional value can be viewed in product descriptions on our website. Depending on consumption level of each elderly, customers may also supplement the meal with rice or congee.
5. If an elderly suffers from diabetes or gout, can he consume soft meal?
Customers may refer to our product descriptions on the website which state the nutritional content of each soft meal product, such as protein, fat, sodium, carbohydrates and sugar etc. before purchase. If an elderly suffers from diabetes or gout, it is advised to consult a nutritionist on the nutritional needs of the elderly, and determine if soft meal is a suitable product. 6. How should I store soft meal products and how long can I keep them?
The “Best Before” date is printed on the nutritional label of all products. Soft meal Bento products need to be stored in a fridge of -18°C with a shelf life of around 1 month. Eversmile Mousse products can be kept in room temperature for around 3 months before consumption, no freezing is required. Senior Deli products have to be stored in room temperature, and cannot be frozen. Depending on which Senior Deli products, they can be kept from 12-24 months before consumption.
